Gulliver's Travels Short Summary Notes Gulliver's Travels short summary:  Gulliver’s Travels was the work of Jonathan Swift who had been using satire as his medium for over a quarter of a country. His life was one of continual dis appointment and satire was his complaint and defence against his enemies and against humankind. He did not believe that the age of science was the triumph that a great majority of his country men believed it to be. Gulliver’s Travels is an adventure story involving several voyages of Lemuel Gulliver, a ship surgeon. Because of a series of mishaps he ends up on several unknown island living with people and animals of unusual sizes, behaviour and philosophy. After each adventure he is able to return to his home in England where he recovers from these unusual experiences and then sets out again on a new voyage.
